Executive Director’s Message

One year ago, on July 13, 2005, CSIA applauded Secretary Michael Chertoff and the Department of Homeland Security for recognizing the need to elevate the level of cyber security leadership within the Department. On this day, Secretary Chertoff announced the creation of the Assistant Secretary for Cyber Security and Telecommunications position, an announcement long awaited by many private sector groups, including CSIA.

Comments Heard on the Hill
CSIA was invited to join Democratic Senators Patrick Leahy, Charles Schumer and Bill Nelson to call for greater government leadership on cyber security. Jay Foley of the Identity Theft Resource Center participated in the event as well.
